Parascript Demonstrates Technology Used by USPS in Mail Processing at National Postal Forum – Software from leading recognition provider, selected by USPS, to be showcased at National Postal Forum, along with incoming mail, vote-by-mail signature verification and capture-to-process

Parascript ®, LLC, a leading machine print, hand print and cursive technology recognition provider, is today announcing the technology it provides to the United States Postal Service (USPS) will be showcased at National Postal Forum. Parascript is known for providing some of the highest read rates in the industry, through a single engine that reliably reads machine print, handprint and cursive, and will be exhibiting at booth #102 in the Innovation & Technology Pavilion at National Postal Forum, April 1-4, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

³At Parascript we pride ourselves on continually furthering the speed, accuracy and sophistication of our recognition technology. Not only do we give posts, resellers and integrators a single engine to read machine print, hand print and cursive, our sophisticated voting technology effectively looks at a document from multiple angles and weighs the outcomes to determine the best answer, which drives higher results. We are happy to be working with the United States Postal Service and look forward to bringing this expertise to others wanting to process parcels, letters and flats,² said Dwayne Ritchie, vice president, sales and marketing for Parascript.

Parascript was awarded a multi-million dollar contract to automate the processing of parcels and bundled mail for the USPS last June under the post¹s Automated Parcel Bundle Sorter (APBS) Optical Character Recognition (OCR) program. Parascript recognition software is also utilized by postal agencies around the world such as Royal Mail, Deutsche Post, Russian Post, Poste Italiane, Posten, and TNT.

This same technology used by the USPS is available to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), resellers, international postal operators, government agencies and other organizations in the U.S. and overseas to more accurately read addresses on, and sort, parcels, letters and flats, helping to minimize processing costs.

Parascript will also demonstrate its technology used in incoming mail processing, capture-to-process (such as forms and payments processing) and signature verification on absentee ballots. These technologies can help organizations to:
• Reduce labor costs associated with sorting incoming mail and get letters, parcels and flats to their destinations faster.
• Process critical business transactions (including forms processing, checks and remittance processing), and
• Efficiently verify and sort incoming vote-by-mail envelopes with technology that locates signatures on envelope images and verifies their authenticity.

Specific products offered by Parascript that will be showcased at National Postal Forum, include:

AddressParcel® allows postal and shipping agencies to locate and read greater volumes of parcel addresses accurately and quickly with industry-leading read rates.

AddressScript® reads addresses on letters, flats and parcels, as well as any character type – cursive, handprint and machine print – in any combination to provide a single recognition solution.

InMailRouter® automatically reads and enables sorting of the entire spectrum of incoming mail, including letters and postcards in facilities that range from high-volume postal mail processing centers to mailrooms of large corporate organizations.

FormXtra SDK® combines Parascript¹s flagship recognition software with a form definition module to enable solution providers to easily integrate forms processing into their products.

SignatureXpert® verifies signatures on documents and vote-by-mail applications, comparing those from ballot envelopes against signatures from the voter registration system or absentee ballot application.
