NetDespatch sets a Cyber Monday record as online retailers fulfil Christmas orders
NetDespatch has reported that Cyber Monday – the first Monday in December – was the busiest day ever for transactions on its Internet services. The Marlow-based company reported a 70 per cent surge in business compared with the same day in 2012. Transactions were 15 per cent higher than a week earlier and 35 per cent higher than the first Monday of November.
According to the industry association for e-retail IMRG, more than a quarter of all Christmas spending is now done via mobile devices compared with just 1 per cent three years ago. Research by Rackspace Hosting meanwhile found that 51 per cent of shoppers will do the majority of shopping online and Amazon has reported orders came in at a rate of 47 items a second with over 4 Million sales during the day.
“The big challenge for retailers at this time of year is not winning orders but fulfilling them” says Becky Clark CEO of NetDespatch. “That is where our technology comes in by seamlessly connecting retailers to their carriers so that deliveries can be made as quickly and as trouble free as possible.”
“NetDespatch allows anyone using parcel services to process higher numbers of orders and expand their businesses without any IT restrictions. It makes
online despatch, labelling and tracking so easy that businesses can not only cope better with seasonal peaks but also become much more efficient,” adds Clark.
NetDespatch provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) shipping, tracking and Systems integration platform for postal and parcel carriers worldwide. It currently enables carriers to provide over 120,000 of their business customers with an easy way to integrate their ecommerce websites, sales order processing and warehouse systems.
According to the IMRG the ecommerce market in the UK has grown to more than £87bn in 2013, and is estimated to reach £134bn by 2016, illustrating the Need for retailers to implement cost effective warehouse to carrier integration to allow them to take advantage of their rapidly expanding marketplace.

eSellerPro, Linnworks and Magento, directly and securely to the NetDespatch servers. The same despatch and delivery data is used to print carrier compliant labels
