NetDespatch expedites fulfilment for ToolStop

Unbenannt

NetDespatch has enabled ToolStop to transform its order fulfilment and despatch processes through seamless carrier integration with APC Overnight. The Scottish hand and power tools distributor has implemented a cost-free solution from NetDespatch which integrates the company’s order management system with the APC Overnight parcel delivery network, enabling ToolStop to halve order processing time and increase sales by 40 percent.

Lanarkshire based ToolStop, a wholly owned subsidiary of Noel Kegg Limited, is one of the UK’s largest independent stockists of quality professional hand and power tools, accessories and related products. Operating from a 60,000 square foot warehouse, the online shop offers customers a next working day delivery service to any address in the UK.

Realising the limitations of a system that required three users to manually key in up to 5,000 UK online despatches per month, ToolStop called the NetDespatch Retail Solutions team for help. After evaluating the company’s order fulfilment processes, the team proposed a managed web services solution that links the company’s web-based order management system with the APC Overnight network, and uses NetDespatch Connector for automatic label printing.

“This was one of the more streamlined integrations we’ve worked on, and it all went smoothly,” says Geoff Stanley, Operations Manager and Developer at eCommerce web design company INDEZ, who worked on the technical side of the integration.

“The integration has enabled us to reduce the turnaround time per website order from ten minutes to about four minutes,” says Neil Bruce, eCommerce Manager, ToolStop. “Prior to implementing the NetDespatch solution, the orders were printed and picked by our warehouse staff, then passed to the office staff for processing before being passed back to the warehouse for packing and despatch via the local APC Overnight depot – Direct Express Parcels. Now the whole process is completed by the warehouse staff, which has allowed us to redeploy 50 percent of our admin staff to other parts of the business, such as sales, and we now process around 7,000 UK online orders per month.”

Bruce adds, “The automated solution has eliminated the manual entering of order details, which has resulted in 100 percent accuracy. Furthermore, we can now offer our customers a later cut-off for next day delivery – something that we were unable to do when we had to manually key in the despatch details.”

NetDespatch works closely with postal and parcel carriers, and provides a cost-free shipping solution for their customers through an easy to use secure web-based platform that automates the connection between order processing, despatch and delivery, even if the orders are received in one location and despatched from another. There are no costs involved for installation, training or support, and the system is available instantly online.
