Escher to join Universal Postal Union’s .post group
Escher Group has been formally elected to join the .post group at the UPU. The Universal Postal Union is an intergovernmental organization and the primary forum for cooperation between governments, Posts and other stakeholders of the global postal sector.
.post is the UPU’s sponsored top-level domain for the postal sector. .post intends to link the physical and digital worlds, creating a secure platform that enables postal e-services to be delivered to all citizens and businesses.
In recognition of the significant position Escher holds within the postal technology community, the members of the .post group at the UPU invited Escher to participate in the development of this sponsored top level domain (sTLD) which is dedicated, secure and postal operator focused.
This sTLD is available exclusively for the postal sector. It is a secure and trusted electronic infrastructure on the internet designed to serve the needs of the global postal community in cyberspace. .post will immediately identify legitimate postal services and avoid confusion for individuals, businesses and stakeholders. Escher Group will contribute postal digital applications to this rich environment.
.post aims to integrate the physical, financial, and electronic dimensions of postal services to enable and facilitate e-post, e-finance, e-commerce and e-government services.
