DELIVER Europe Celebrates Its 9th Edition as the Premier Event for Meaningful Connections in Supply Chain & Retail

DELIVER Europe, the #1 matchmaking event for the retail, ecommerce and supply chain community, celebrated its 9th edition with great success at the Taets Art & Event Centre in Amsterdam on June 5-6, 2024. Welcoming more than 1,500 attendees, including representatives from 134 supply chain partners and over 900 top retail names within Europe, DELIVER reaffirmed its status as the elite event within the supply chain ecosystem.

Since its inception in 2016, DELIVER has worked to uphold the promise of bringing together European top leaders from the retail, ecommerce and logistics space under a common roof, to make meaningful connections and fast-track supply chain projects. On 5 and 6 June 2024 the DELIVER team once again, delivered on that promise, with founder and CEO Stephane Tomczak commenting: “We started with humble beginnings and a simple goal: to help business leaders make valuable connections at an elite level to accelerate partnership decisions on time-sensitive supply chain projects. Every year, we listen to our customers and community, reinventing ourselves to offer the best experience possible. Our core principles—People, Planet, Profit—guide everything we do. We create outstanding experiences for our attendees, prioritise sustainability with our carbon-neutral operations, and reinvest 100% of residual profits into sustainable and social projects since 2022. These values make DELIVER a special place for the community to connect.

Precision matchmaking is at the core of DELIVER Europe. In the month leading up to the event, all attending retailers and supply chain vendors utilise the DELIVER matchmaking platform to arrange on-site meetings with potential new partners. Matches are meticulously scored based on the compatibility of solutions with each retailer’s active supply chain projects, ensuring highly relevant and productive connections. This year’s advanced matchmaking process facilitated over 4,500 meetings, paving the way for partnerships that will transform the industry in the coming months and years.

The event also celebrated numerous breakthroughs and the relentless innovative spirit of the retail and supply chain community, encapsulated in a captivating conference agenda delivered by over 50 expert speakers. DELIVER Europe brought their best keynote line-up to date, with key industry figures taking to the DELIVER stage to share groundbreaking insights, including Jesper Toubøl, Vice President Operations at LEGO; Bjoern Kirchner, Corporate Vice President, Supply Chain Management for Henkel; Jannie Appelt, VP Global Logistics at Just Eat; Dr. Oliver Vogt, Director, Strategy & Transformation at Tesco; and Marlein Wiertsema, Global Head of Service Fulfilment Development & Innovation at Ingka Group – IKEA.

A notable highlight was the panel discussion „The Future is Circular,“ which brought the sustainability discussion within retail front and centre thanks to speaking experts from Decathlon, Selfridges, and Reflaunt.com. DELIVER also proudly held its first panel discussion on diversity within the supply chain industry led by authoritative figures from The Human Difference, Decathlon and PVH. Together, they each examined ways in which leaders can support female representation and elevate women to more leadership roles, offering points of reflection and action for audience members.

The agenda included a whopping 30 breakout sessions across the two days, from a series of supply chain trendsetters, sharing their own experiences, challenges and lessons learned. One key session was “Future-proofing warehouses with intelligent automation” from Ocado Intelligent Automation, where CEO Mark Richardson led the discussion around building a roadmap for transformation to support businesses. FedEx Express examined how businesses can unlock revenue growth through innovative changes to their cross-border e-commerce strategies. Delegates also were eager to listen to Daniel Corbett, VP Sales EMEA at Metapack and Cheyney Cartwright, Head of Commercial for Amazon Shipping discuss the innovations out there for parcel delivery and how technology can help brands build trust with their customers.

Across 5 and 6 June, the event showcased cutting-edge solutions from 134 supply chain brands. GLS, Packeta, AutoStore, Amazon Shipping, Geopost, Maersk, Ocado Intelligent Automation and Spring GDS were just some of the powerhouse brands who filled the exhibition, giving attendees a flavour of what the future of logistics holds, covering 3PL, robotics, automation, warehousing solutions, delivery, freight forwarding, return solutions and so much more.

Phillip Brummond, Director International Business Development for GLS recognised the value which DELIVER Europe offers to supply chain businesses: “The main reason we come back each year is because we actually get to meet our target customers and showcase our international brand to them. It’s like a reunion, as we get to meet directly with our customers and also connect with new prospects. It’s all about connecting.”

On 5 June 2024, DELIVER Europe also celebrated the return of the DELIVER Vendor Awards, which allows the retailers in attendance to recognise the supply chain vendors who excel across 5 different categories. The following winners were crowned with all due pomp and circumstance, at the dazzling Awards Ceremony:

  • Brand Excellence Award: Maersk
  • Customer Experience Award: parcelLab
  • Sustainability Award: Spring GDS
  • Game Changer Award: Ocado Intelligent Automation
  • Rising Star Award: Relay Technologies

Ocado Intelligent Automation spoke to the DELIVER team about their gratitude for the award and commented: “First, we wanted to change the way in which the world shopped online for groceries. That vision then grew to change the way in which we house goods, and now we’re changing the way in which we automate. So, to have that recognition at our first time here at Deliver Europe means an awful lot to everybody back in the factory, everyone who’s here with us exhibiting today and certainly all the staff that have supported us with the event.” explained Jamie Spencer, Vice President of Sales – EMEA.

A core pillar that sets DELIVER apart is their commitment to sustainability, operating as a carbon-neutral event since 2016. A rarity within the events industry, DELIVER put their pledge to the environment at the forefront of all activities including adopting re-usable stand materials and offsetting the emissions for all delegates. DHL Global Head of Sales Ryan Hunter echoing their support for this commitment, stating:

“We have very clear carbon neutrality targets in DHL, and it’s something that’s really inside our DNA. When we’re evaluating any kind of partnership, we look at their sustainability targets and shared values, so it’s absolutely important for us that DELIVER is carbon-neutral.
